Baja California
Baja California is a Definitive Edition map with two resource-rich bodies of water flanking a central Trade Route that separates the teams. The layout creates linked land and sea objectives: route sites support trade, while the side waters can provide naval resources and movement.

Map character
Scout both water bodies and count route sites before committing to a Dock, Fishing Ships or forward Trading Post. Check which shoreline connects safely to the base and whether the central route can be reinforced from that position. The water openings may support a naval economy, but ships cannot protect inland workers or a Trading Post by themselves.
What to scout
Invest in Fishing Ships when they can work without being driven off; contest the central route when the army can defend its posts. Secure one objective first, then expand toward the other when production and defenses can cover both. Keep the home side protected while moving the army across the dividing route.
Avoid splitting the opening force
The two side waters can tempt an early naval investment while the central route draws land forces in the opposite direction. Choose which objective the army can realistically secure first, and scout whether the opponent is contesting the other. Expanding to both fronts is strongest after the economy can sustain ships and land production without leaving workers exposed.
