Role, availability & values
Drive the wagon into a Weapon Cache to detonate both and clear a blocked route. The blast is the mission’s special demolition rule; the wagon is consumed, so it cannot be used twice.
Matchup & timing
Protect each wagon until the army reaches a cache and clear the path required to reach the Lakota objective. In Definitive Edition the mission changes enemy faction and the final meeting target, but the explosive wagon still serves as a route-clearing tool.
Use the one-shot demolition at the cache
In Urgent News, drive the supplied wagon into a Weapon Cache to destroy both and open the blocked route. The wagon is consumed by the blast, so choose the cache that best advances the mission and avoid sending it into ordinary combat. This explosive is a scenario mechanic, not a recruitable multiplayer unit.

The mission wagon has 450 hit points, 10% ranged resistance and 4.0 speed, but its purpose is to reach a Weapon Cache and detonate it. That collision consumes the wagon and cache together, opening the blocked route; it is not a combat wagon or reusable siege unit. Move the escort with it through enemy pressure and spend each wagon only when the army is ready to use the path it clears. Urgent News supplies the explosive as part of the scenario, not as a normal The WarChiefs unit queue.
