California
California is a WarChiefs map organized around a Trade Route. The route normally contains four Trading Posts, some team layouts use three, and a five-site version can appear rarely. Its variable length changes which sites can be taken first and how much of the route one player can defend.

Map character
Count the actual Trading Posts after the match loads and identify which are closest to each starting position. Team layout changes access and which section can be reached or reinforced first. Scout alternate paths before committing resources to expansion, and note whether the route can be attacked from a side approach.
What to scout
Build around the sites in the current match and keep mobile units ready to defend posts you claim. Do not plan around a fixed route length from another layout. If the opponent reaches central posts first, contest a connected section rather than scattering forces across every site.
Adapt the route plan to the generated layout
The number and arrangement of Trading Posts affect the value of a Stagecoach-style investment and the distance required to connect the route. A short route can be easier to secure but offers fewer positions; a longer one can reward expansion while exposing the player to attacks along more ground. Reveal the sites before choosing where to place early production, then keep reinforcements close enough to defend the posts that contribute to the plan. Map variants make scouting more reliable than memorizing a single opening.
