Filiki Eteria
Filiki Eteria is an Exploration Age improvement researched at the Athos Monastery. It changes what happens when eligible Hero units are knocked out: they spawn two Evzones, with a smaller number for certain Heroes. The technology adds a recovery benefit to Hero engagements rather than increasing every unit’s attack or health directly.

Research costs 800 Coin and takes 30 seconds at an Athos Monastery. Its effect depends on a Hero being knocked out after the technology is active; the exact Evzone count has roster exceptions. Check which Heroes receive one or two before relying on a particular return, and retain population space for the infantry.

When to research
Research it when the army will use Heroes in contested areas and the Coin investment does not delay essential production. Extra Evzones can turn a Hero’s defeat into a small reinforcement, but do not prevent the Hero from being out of action or replace a rescue plan. Keep nearby forces ready to collect the spawned units and protect the Hero’s recovery window.
Treat the Evzones as a contingency force
The spawn is tied to a Hero being knocked out, so it is a contingency benefit rather than a guaranteed shipment on a fixed timer. A Hero kept safely away from combat may never trigger it, while an aggressive Hero can create more opportunities but risk losing map control during recovery. The one-or-two-unit variation means this is a supplement, not a precisely sized army. The Athos Monastery access and Coin cost fit best in a plan already using its Hero-related options.
