Fish - Carp
Carp are finite marine-resource nodes in Age of Empires III. Each has 100 hit points and yields 500 Food; the Wiki lists one recommended fisherman per fish. They are part of the Asian Dynasties map ecology rather than a separately trained unit.

Resource amount & access
Fishing Boats and eligible fishing ships can gather fish in deep water. Villagers can only reach fish beside shore or in shallow water, so the usable shoreline matters as much as the listed stock. Carp are documented on Ceylon and can appear along the Yellow River during its flood-season variant. In Ceylon they share waters with Mola Mola and Tuna; on Yellow River they can appear with Catfish.
Map scouting & economy
Use a nearby Carp shoal as a finite early Food source when the coast can be defended. Move Fishing Boats between nodes as one is depleted, and keep Villagers on shore-accessible fish only when their path and drop-off are safe. In Yellow River, scout the season layout before planning around the fish: dry and flood versions differ, and Carp may not appear in every generated match.
Shoreline, open-water and season differences
A Carp school contains 500 Food and has 100 hit points. Fishing Boats and eligible fishing ships can gather from deeper water, while Villagers can reach only shallow fish beside the shore. Carp are documented on Ceylon and in the flood-season version of Yellow River; the Yellow River's dry and flood layouts do not provide the same waterways or fish placement. Scout the generated variant before counting on a particular school for the opening economy.
Rotate the fleet as schools are depleted
Ceylon can place Carp alongside Mola Mola and Tuna, giving boats several fish types to move between. On Yellow River, Catfish may share the flood-season waters. Each node is finite, so rotate Fishing Boats before they idle at an exhausted school and keep an alternative Food source ready. Shoreline gathering can save population that would otherwise be spent on boats, but only when a Villager can safely reach and return from the fish.
