Units

Fluffy

Fluffy is a pet cheat unit in Age of Empires III, summoned with “we <3 fluffy!1!” or added to a custom setup through the Scenario Editor. Its name and presentation are comic, but its recorded hand attack is powerful enough to make it a serious threat in a cheat-enabled encounter. The entry describes a hidden special unit rather than a pet that can be trained, shipped from a Home City or added to an ordinary civilization roster.

Cheat access & profile

Fluffy has 600 hit points, 90% hand resistance, speed 7.5 and line of sight 12. Its hand attack deals 800 damage at a one-second interval. The profile classifies it as a Pet and cheat unit and records that it can see stealth. Food and experience fields are also present in the data, but the summon code and Scenario Editor are the listed ways to access it; those fields are not ordinary production instructions.

Training & availability

Cheat-enabled game: enter “we <3 fluffy!1!”; alternatively place Fluffy in the Scenario Editor. It is not a standard pet shipment or trainable roster unit.

Threat and encounter use

Use Fluffy only in a cheat-enabled game or a custom scenario that calls for the special unit. Its speed allows it to close on targets, and the high-damage hand attack punishes any unit that lets it reach melee range. If a scenario is intended to be survivable, place it where the player can recognize and respond to the threat; if it is a surprise encounter, make sure the route and objective give the player a chance to react.

Practical direction

The 800-damage attack and one-second interval make contact the key danger. Keep vulnerable units out of reach and use scenario controls to determine when Fluffy appears, rather than treating it as a balanced roster choice. Its 90% hand resistance applies to the recorded profile and should not be generalized to every pet or guardian. The stealth-vision tag is useful when designing a special encounter in which hidden units might otherwise bypass it.

A pet classification does not make it a normal companion

Fluffy is categorized as a Pet, but the same profile explicitly identifies it as a cheat unit. The pet label describes the object’s classification, not a regular shipment, an economic animal or a unit available from a standard production building. The code is the direct summon method when cheats are allowed; the Scenario Editor gives scenario makers a way to place it without relying on a normal civilization technology tree.

The stat line explains why contact should be avoided

At 600 hit points Fluffy is less durable than some other special summons, but its 800 hand damage every second is the defining combat value. Speed 7.5 helps it reach targets, while 90% hand resistance makes reciprocal melee attacks inefficient. Ranged attacks and controlled positioning are safer ways to deal with it in a custom encounter. Its 12 line of sight and stealth-vision classification are additional profile properties, not evidence that it belongs in ordinary competitive play.
