Kamchatka
Kamchatka is a Definitive Edition boreal-forest map built around one Trade Route that crosses two rivers. The rivers divide the forested terrain, so crossings connect the map’s sections and determine how armies reach the Trade Route and its Trading Posts.

Map character
Scout both rivers and locate the available crossings before committing Villagers or the main army to one bank. The single route concentrates Trade Posts along a shared line, while the forest can make practical movement depend on open corridors. Shipment support from a Trading Post is only useful if the site can be defended and the army can reach it across the river network.
What to scout
Secure a crossing and preserve a reinforcement path before contesting the Trade Route. Use vision on the opposite bank to avoid splitting the army across water, and protect a post if it is part of the shipment plan. Resource and Treasure placement varies between generated games, so scout the actual layout instead of using a fixed opening route.
River access and route control overlap
The two rivers and single Trade Route make map control interconnected: the crossing that connects the army may also determine how quickly it can defend a post. Avoid overcommitting to one riverbank before learning where the opponent can cross. If the Trade Route is contested, keep units positioned to support the post and the crossing rather than treating those as separate objectives.
