Map character

Find the central peninsula, its two Trade Routes and the capturable Wind Mill before expanding workers across the flooded lowlands. Scout how the water channels movement and which approaches expose the peninsula. Bourbon, Habsburg, Hanover and Wettin sites may offer alliances, but first establish a route to hold them.

What to scout

Contesting the peninsula is valuable when the army can defend several approaches; otherwise secure a nearby resource pocket and advance in stages. Capture the Wind Mill when troops can maintain access, and choose one Trade Route to protect before committing to both. Use land paths that avoid flooded channels rather than relying on a continuous wall.

Flooded lowlands and a central peninsula

Low Countries represents the Rhine, Meuse and Scheldt delta. Much of the region is flooded, while most resources are concentrated on a central peninsula with two Trade Routes. A capturable Wind Mill adds another objective. Holding the peninsula can provide access to resources and routes, but exposes an army to several approaches.

Capture the Wind Mill and defend access

Bourbon, Habsburg, Hanover and Wettin settlements are available; Highwayman and Inquisitor are outlaws. Scout how flooded ground channels movement before sending workers to the peninsula. Capture the Wind Mill when nearby forces can maintain control, then decide which route can be protected. Low Countries is a hybrid map in Knights of the Mediterranean.
