Monastery Rickshaw; Lavra Monastery Wagon
Monastery Rickshaw and Lavra Monastery Wagon are mobile construction units that build a Monastery for free at their destination. The names describe variants used by Asian civilizations and the Cossack Hetmanate, respectively.

Role, availability & values
The wagon has 250 hit points and moves at 4.0 speed. It must reach a legal site and finish construction before the Monastery’s recruitment, research or Experience functions become available. The exact Monastery options depend on the civilization that owns the wagon.
Matchup & timing
Use the wagon when the Monastery’s available units or technologies fill a real army need. Scout a protected site and escort the slow-moving builder across contested routes. After construction, defend the building long enough to use its options rather than treating the wagon itself as a reinforcement.
Delivery version and experience change
The mobile builder can establish a Monastery without the ordinary building-resource cost, but it must first travel to a legal site. Keep the wagon protected during the trip: at 4.0 speed it is slower than many military units, and opponents can destroy it before the Monastery becomes available. The Monastery’s recruitable units, technologies and Experience trickle depend on the civilization using it, so check the destination building’s functions rather than assuming that every Monastery has the same roster. There is also a release-specific reward change. In The Asian Dynasties, a Monastery Rickshaw grants 60 XP when killed; in Definitive Edition it no longer grants XP on death. That change matters when weighing the risk of losing the wagon in a contested lane, but it does not make an exposed route safe. Choose a site close enough to defend and useful enough to justify the shipment or scenario reward, then use the completed Monastery to complement the army already being produced elsewhere.
Wagon loss, building value and edition note
The wagon itself does not provide the Monastery’s Experience trickle or recruitment options while travelling; those functions begin only after the structure is placed. The correct value of the delivery therefore depends on the civilization’s Monastery roster and whether its units or technologies answer a current army need. A useful placement is near a defensible route, where the player can protect the builder and then keep the finished building active. The release distinction is specific: a Monastery Rickshaw gives 60 XP when killed in The Asian Dynasties, while Definitive Edition removed that reward. The wagon remains a target either way, and its 250 hit points do not make a long crossing safe. Bring an escort and choose a site before moving it forward.
