Research condition

Available to Europeans from the Imperial Age. Research it at Capitol. It requires Knighthood.

When to research

Prepare the affected buildings or positions before researching Peerage: Hero hit points +1,000, ranged and hand attack damage +100%. The benefit matters only while those structures are part of the plan and can be protected; keep troops available to hold the area. Use the Capitol for research. This requires Knighthood. Research takes 30 seconds and costs 1,000 food.

Hero upgrade after Knighthood

Peerage requires Knighthood and is researched at the Capitol in Imperial Age. It costs 1,000 Food and takes 30 seconds, adding 1,000 hero hit points and 100% ranged and hand attack damage. The large cost is worthwhile only if the hero will remain active long enough to benefit; protect the hero during the research window and compare the upgrade with an Imperial army investment.

Protect the hero through the research window

Start Peerage while the hero can be kept safe and before a decisive engagement, rather than waiting until the hero is already under concentrated fire. The hit-point bonus improves durability and the attack increase adds combat pressure, but a stronger hero can still be countered or isolated. Keep support nearby and compare the upgrade with spending Food on the army needed to protect the hero or secure the map.
