Effect & research conditions
Research costs 75 Wood and 75 Coin and takes 30 seconds. The +10% effect applies to Experience gathering by herded animals working at a Sacred Field. It does not increase all livestock on the map, Villager hunting or the animal’s Food value.
Research condition
Available to Indians from the Exploration Age. Research it at Sacred Field.
When to research
Research when Sacred Fields already have livestock assigned and the economy can keep those animals working. The added Experience advances Home City shipments over time; it has little return before the building and herd are in place. Protect both the animals and the Sacred Field if they are a central part of the shipment plan.
Livestock Experience, not hunted Food
Ritual Bovine improves the Experience rate of herded animals assigned to the Sacred Field by 10%. It does not make wild animals yield more Food and does not change Villager gathering from carcasses. This distinction matters when planning an Indian livestock economy.
Keep the herd working
The research costs 75 Wood and 75 Coin and takes 30 seconds in the Exploration Age. It pays back through animals that remain assigned to Sacred Fields long enough to generate Experience and advance shipments. Secure the livestock from raids and compare the small cost with other early upgrades.
