Map character

Scout the three linked Trade Routes along the Danube and identify crossings that let the army respond to pressure between stations. Phanar and Wettin settlements are possible nearby objectives. Place Trading Posts where the main force can reinforce them rather than spreading across the full river corridor.

What to scout

A route investment pays off when the army can hold a connected section and respond to attacks on adjacent stations. If forces are limited, secure one side of the corridor instead of dividing them among all three. Use the river to plan movement, but keep a crossing available for retreat and reinforcement.

Three linked Danube routes

Wallachia follows the plains along the Lower Danube south of the Carpathians. Three Trade Routes run along the river and link together, creating a potentially lucrative investment. Phanar and Wettin settlements are available, with Crabat and Hajduk as outlaws. The linked layout can let one attack threaten several stations.

Hold the river corridor

Scout the length of the Danube before placing Trading Posts so the army can defend the most valuable section and respond to pressure nearby. Avoid spreading the force across all three routes if that leaves each too weak. Use river crossings and the lower-Danube corridor when planning movement. Wallachia is a Knights of the Mediterranean land map.
