Overview

Rivers and raised terrain influence attack routes and defensive lines.

Terrain and layout

A central river divides the map into two sides and has five shallow crossings. Cliffs and plateaus vary from one generation to another, while teams start on opposite banks.

Resources and control

Shore Fish and an unusually large number of Sheep make the river valuable early. Sacred Sites and Trade Posts are split between the banks, and most resources are distributed on both sides, though some can cross over.

Player considerations

Contest the crossings without abandoning food gathering. Fishing and Sheep are both valuable, while a force that controls only one river crossing can be bypassed through another.
