What this edition label covers
Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition is the named edition used here to identify the base-game roster and its core campaigns. It was released on October 25, 2022. The free Anniversary Update added the Malians and Ottomans for existing base-game owners, along with maps, Masteries and achievements; those civilizations are part of this base-game reference rather than a paid expansion.
Core campaigns and roster
The core campaign collection comprises The Normans, The Hundred Years War, The Mongol Empire and The Rise of Moscow. The ten base-game civilizations include the original eight and the two free Anniversary Update additions. Later paid expansion civilizations and their campaigns are listed on their own pages so their availability and mechanics remain distinct.
