Prelates inspire Villagers to improve the economy and can collect Relics. Landsknechte and strong infantry options reward a protected economic base and timely Castle Age.
Use in play
Position Prelates where they affect many Villagers, then plan safe routes for Relic collection. Support infantry with the units needed to handle ranged and siege threats.
Prelates and Relics
Prelates can inspire nearby Villagers to improve gathering and can collect Relics. Their value depends on positioning: a Prelate covering an active group of workers has an economic role, while one sent to a Relic supports long-term income or a landmark bonus. Protect the route and the religious unit.
Infantry and timing
The HRE’s infantry roster includes the Landsknecht, whose area damage can punish clustered units but whose low durability calls for protection. Relic control, defensive landmarks and economic boosts can support a powerful Castle Age transition. Match infantry with ranged or anti-cavalry support as the opposing army requires.
