Armory Passes and Armory Credits
The Armory uses a pass-and-credit progression. A Prime Status account purchases an Armory Pass in-game and activates it to begin earning Armory Credits. Each activated pass supports progress toward 40 credits. Players can keep up to five passes active at once, allowing eligible play to advance all active passes together. When a pass is complete, the player clears it in the interface before activating another one.
Credits are earned when the player earns XP on official Valve servers with an activated pass. Armory progress is separate from weekly Profile Rank XP, so a player should not assume that an XP bonus or reduced weekly XP changes Armory progress in the same way. Steam Support lists reasons progress may not be issued: the match was non-Prime, the player left before XP was awarded for completion, or the player or a party member caused a match cancellation for irregular gameplay. The pass screen is the clearest place to verify progress after an eligible match.
Redeeming items from the store
Armory Credits are spent on the offers displayed in the Armory. The catalogue has included weapon collections and finishes, stickers, Weapon Charms, cases and limited-edition items. Each offer shows its current credit cost and any time limit that applies. Costs and available items are attached to the current offer, so an old screenshot or item list should be treated as a dated catalogue rather than a permanent Armory inventory.
A credit redemption adds an inventory item or offer-defined reward; it is separate from buying combat equipment during a live match. For example, a Weapon Charm can later be attached to a compatible weapon through its own customization flow, while a case or sticker remains an inventory object with separate use rules. Inventory, Weapon Skins, Stickers, Charms and Weapon Cases explain the resulting item types.
Eligibility, activation and refunds
Armory Passes are available for purchase to accounts with Prime Status. A purchased pass that has not been activated may be refunded under the current Steam Support rule; after activation it cannot be refunded. Activation begins earning progress and commits the pass to that progression. Before activating, check that the account is ready to earn credits through eligible play and that the current Armory contains items of interest.
A player can complete up to five active passes at once and then clear completed passes in the game interface. The credits themselves cannot be purchased directly or transferred between accounts through trade or the Steam Community Market. This keeps the earning step tied to an activated pass and eligible CS2 XP rather than a separate credit store.
Pass duration and offer availability
Armory Passes do not expire, according to Steam Support. This means the pass progression is not the same as a short event ticket with a required completion deadline. The offers inside the Armory are a separate matter: the catalogue can change, and a Limited Edition Item is available only for the duration displayed on its store tile. Check the offer timer in CS2 rather than assuming a past release remains redeemable.
A pass that remains valid does not guarantee that every item will remain in the catalogue indefinitely. Valve’s dated updates identify when collections or limited items enter or leave the Armory. Track those changes in The Armory Update and Item Updates. An item already redeemed belongs to the player’s inventory under its own item rules; offer removal is not the same as removing an owned item.
How The Armory differs from other systems
The Armory is an XP-linked redemption store, not a random case-opening requirement or a round equipment menu. The player earns Armory Credits from pass progress and selects among the current Armory offers. A Weapon Case is a separate container with its own contents and opening process. A Weekly Care Package is tied to its own progression and selection rules. These systems can all yield cosmetic inventory items, but their entry conditions and use differ.
Armory Credits are also different from Profile Rank: Profile Rank tracks weekly account XP, while pass progress is separately measured for the Armory. Prime Status determines pass eligibility, not a player’s weapon statistics or Skill Group. See Prime Status, Profile Rank, Skill Groups and CS Rating for the neighboring systems.
CS2 introduction and dated catalogue changes
The Armory was introduced in Counter-Strike 2 on October 2, 2024. Its launch announcement described three weapon collections, two charm collections, two sticker collections, the Gallery Case and the Heat Treated Desert Eagle among the opening offers. It also introduced Weapon Charms and the pass progression used to earn credits. Those launch contents describe the initial release, not the catalogue currently available.
The Armory and its pass system are CS2 features. This entry records current account eligibility and progression separately from dated store rotations. Earlier release announcements may show different credit messaging or catalogues as Valve adjusted the system; use the current Steam Support FAQ for pass rules and dated update notes for offer history. The Armory is connected to Patch Archive, Gameplay Updates and the individual inventory entries for each item type.
M4A1-S | Solitude limited-time item (August 14, 2025)
The August 14, 2025 update introduced M4A1-S | Solitude as a new limited-time item available in The Armory. The note does not state how long the item would remain available, its Armory credit cost or its finish pattern details. It is a weapon finish associated with the M4A1-S, not a new firearm or a gameplay-stat change. See M4A1-S for the weapon and Weapon Skins for the cosmetic-item system.
