Map identity and setting
Memento is a CS2 community map for Wingman. The available sources identify the map as de_memento, place it in Italy and credit MadsenFK, ynel, TwinN and g3om. Its premise is an Italian wedding beside a lake, with views across a great lake. The Wiki identifies Villa del Balbianello, which overlooks Lake Como, as the architectural inspiration.
The wedding is environmental context for the map rather than a separate game objective. The source does not describe wedding guests as interactive characters or establish them as hostages, bots or combatants. Similarly, the lake and villa reference explain the intended scenery; they do not confirm specific navigable shore routes, accessible rooms or tactical positions.
Wingman match context
Wingman is a two-versus-two mode using the Bomb Defusal objective. Terrorists attempt to plant the C4 Explosive at the map’s enabled site and protect it; Counter-Terrorists try to stop the plant or retake and defuse. The small team size means each player’s information can affect a large share of the team’s coverage. Those are shared Wingman rules, not a Memento-specific route plan.
The retrievable Memento map description does not provide a callout diagram, route-by-route layout or written site directions. Although an overview and radar image are identified in the source gallery, their labels do not provide a textual route list in the captured source. This entry therefore explains the mode and map identity without inventing named corridors, approach timing or site tactics.
Dated CS2 availability
On June 25, 2024, Counter-Strike 2 added Memento and Assembly to the Wingman map pool. That dated entry records a period when Memento was included in the CS2 mode selection. On November 13, 2024, a later CS2 update removed Memento, Assembly, Thera and Mills from all game modes. These dates distinguish the map’s historical official inclusion from its present availability.
Removal from official modes did not erase Memento’s identity as a CS2 community map or change its lakeside-wedding setting. It means the dated CS2 queue record changed. Map rotations can change independently of a map’s creation, Workshop listing or game edition, so consult Map Rotations when asking which maps are currently selectable.
Architecture and visual reference
Villa del Balbianello overlooks Lake Como and is the real-world architectural reference identified for Memento. This connection helps explain the map’s lakeside Italian visual character without implying that the CS2 level reproduces every part of the real estate or its grounds.
The map’s defining visual combination is therefore the Italian lakeside setting, wedding premise and architecture inspired by the villa. These points help distinguish Memento from other community Wingman maps even though the available prose does not identify individual callouts. For the objective and current roster context, follow Wingman and Map Rotations.
Counter-Strike 2 scope
This article covers the CS2 map and its June 25–November 13, 2024 official Wingman availability. The available source entry identifies no earlier-edition Memento version. Workshop presence, map identity, historical pool inclusion and current matchmaking availability are separate records; the dated CS2 removal should not be mistaken for a change to the map’s setting or inspiration.
