Automatic fire and limited ammunition

The CZ75-Auto is the only fully automatic pistol in the CS2 roster. Its 12-round magazine and 24-round reserve give the player only 36 rounds before a pickup or replenishment; holding the trigger can empty the loaded magazine in a short burst. The source records 31 base damage and hitbox values of 123/95 for the head, 38/29 for abdomen and pelvis, 30/23 for chest and arms, and 23 for legs. Its 77.7% armor penetration gives it a strong close-range profile, but the small ammunition supply limits how many shots can be spent finding a target.

The recoil is unusual: the source describes strong sideways movement, first left and then right, rather than a simple upward climb. Combined with high spread and damage falloff, this makes prolonged spraying unreliable outside very short distance. Use a brief burst to deal with one close target, then reassess. A second opponent can punish a player who has spent the whole magazine on the first.

When the CZ75-Auto fits

At $500, the CZ75-Auto is a sidearm choice for either team and can provide a compact close-range response on a save or economy round. The source describes it as useful for trying to secure one elimination and then picking up the fallen player’s primary weapon. Its $300 Competitive kill reward and $150 Casual reward are separately listed in the CS2 record.

The CZ75-Auto takes a long time to draw, and its 2.7–2.8-second reload leaves a player vulnerable. Avoid relying on a quick switch to rescue a failed rifle duel; choose the pistol before contact or retreat behind cover to reload. Players who want more capacity or easier deliberate shots can compare the Tec-9, Five-SeveN and Desert Eagle. The Buy Menu explains that the CZ75-Auto replaces the chosen team pistol in the loadout.

CS2 reload behavior

The March 18, 2026 ammunition update made a CZ75-Auto reload discard the rounds still in its 12-round magazine and replace it with a full magazine from reserve. The HUD shows the reserve as magazines and displays the loaded magazine fill level. Because the reserve is only 24 rounds, an unnecessary reload can waste much of the remaining ammunition. Reload out of sight and track the count before engaging.

Kill reward adjustment (April 25, 2024)

The April 25, 2024 CS2 update increased the CZ75-Auto kill reward from $100 to $300 in standard rules, with the Casual reward set to $150. The higher reward applies when this pistol earns a kill and affects the money available for later purchases. It is an economy adjustment; the patch did not describe a change to magazine size, reserve ammunition, firing behavior, damage or accuracy. The CZ75-Auto remains a compact automatic sidearm whose short firing window and ammunition supply shape how it is used. Compare the dated reward with the broader Economy rules and the pistol's Buy Menu cost when considering its place in a round purchase.
