Model & identity
The Navaja Knife is one of the knife models in the CS2 inventory. A small folding knife with a narrow, curved blade profile. Its compact appearance distinguishes it from larger fixed blades. CS2 finishes apply to the compatible surfaces while its role remains melee equipment. The player sees the selected model when holding and inspecting the knife; other players can also see its equipped appearance in match situations where the model is visible.
The knife type and the weapon finish are separate parts of the item. A knife model determines the blade and handle form, while an eligible finish determines the surface pattern or color. A finish does not convert the knife into a different model, and a visually rare finish does not improve its performance.
Role in a match
The Navaja Knife occupies the melee weapon slot and provides the standard knife actions available in CS2. Players may switch to it when they need a melee option or when moving without a firearm is appropriate under the game’s movement rules. It has no unique tactical ability tied to this cosmetic model. The player must still consider nearby opponents and choose whether to keep a firearm ready.
Knife attacks are close-range actions and expose the user if an opponent has a gun ready. The equipped model does not replace positioning, movement or a team’s objective. The Stock Knife explains the default equipment; this entry describes the selected visual variant.
Finishes & inventory
Compatible finishes can change the Navaja Knife’s visible blade or handle surfaces. The exact finish pool depends on item and container releases, so availability should be documented with the relevant CS2 Weapon Cases, Collections or update entry rather than assumed from the knife’s name.
The knife can be inspected and equipped through the CS2 inventory and loadout interface. An inspect animation presents the model but does not change its match statistics. A weapon finish or knife model is part of item customization and does not affect the AK-47, M4A4 or other firearms in the player’s inventory.
CS2 applicability
This entry covers the Navaja Knife model in Counter-Strike 2. Its current cosmetic availability depends on the item pool and updates; no market price or case drop is treated as permanent. The visual profile described here identifies the model and separates it from the shared melee role.
Marble-enamel handle and tapered blade
The Navaja Knife is a compact folding knife with a small, sharply tapered blade. Its official description emphasizes a marble-enamel handle and the contrast between the modest folded profile and the pointed blade. The Wiki identifies the visual reference as the Emerson Gypsy Jack Folding Knife. Its short blade and decorated handle give it a different silhouette from the narrow, long-bladed Stiletto Knife and the curved Talon Knife.
The Navaja is not a separate lightweight weapon class. In Counter-Strike 2 it is a cosmetic knife model that shares the default Stock Knife combat properties. Its appearance does not reduce slash or stab damage, change the effective range, or provide a faster movement state. Players encounter it in the melee loadout and use it for the same close-range attacks as other knives; the visual distinction matters for model recognition, animation preference and finish selection.
CS2 item history and appearance
The Navaja Knife entered the item roster in the August 3, 2018 update alongside the Ursus Knife, Stiletto Knife and Talon Knife. That dated release context is part of the item’s history; these four models remain distinct in shape and animation even though they share the same knife role. The Navaja is classified as a Rare Special item and can be selected from the CS2 inventory loadout.
The Wiki gallery records original, Chroma and other finish families for the Navaja, with historical container associations such as the Horizon, Danger Zone, Prisma and Prisma 2 Cases. These names help explain the finish catalogue, but container associations can change and are not a live availability indicator. Compatible Weapon Skins alter the item’s appearance; Wear and Pattern Index describe condition and pattern variation without changing combat behavior. Compare the compact handle-and-blade profile with the Flip Knife and Ursus Knife.
Deploy and quick-inspect animations (August 14, 2025)
On August 14, 2025, Counter-Strike 2 improved deploy and quick-inspect animations for all knives. The patch describes a shared animation update across the knife category; it does not identify a unique pose, timing value or motion change for this individual model. The change concerns how a knife is drawn and quickly inspected in first person, rather than its attack damage, reach, movement speed or cosmetic finish. The same update separately modified the Sawed-Off and several named firearms, whose animation changes are documented on their own pages.
