Around Animals

Toads are witches' familiars: any seen near the door should be killed at once, lest they bring misfortune or sickness.

Dogs that cannot sleep at night are plagued by phantoms or fiends — do not look at a howling dog, lest you become afflicted too. Only meet an owl's eyes if you have a death wish. A hare spotted after dusk may be a disguised witch: never cross its path.

Roosters are the exception worth keeping nearby: its crowing banishes spirits and makes witches' ears bleed.

Drop odds are derived from the game files and assume a fresh roll; pity bonuses and duplicate protection shift them as you play, so treat every figure as an estimate.
