Gisko's Contract
This contract, agreed in Anno Domini 1349 before witnesses by Knyaz Brencis — the one true ruler of Vale Sangora — and Gisko von Teschen of Bohemia, charges Gisko with tracking down and felling Coen of Laslea, son of Pieter: an utter scoundrel and foe of the Vale's good people, a vrakhir who preys on the lonely and weak, drains them dry, and refuses the willingly and securely obtained blood on which Brencis's court sustains itself.
Gisko shall neither rest nor take on other obligations until it is done. Upon proof of the deed — the villain's severed head — Brencis solemnly vows Gisko's reward: every help in lifting the curse on his affianced, Osterhild of Buda, who suffers possession by a demon of mysterious origin, and afterwards unhindered departure from Vale Sangora for them both.
May God the Almighty, watching from the crimson heavens above, smite whichever party breaks these commitments.
