History of Vale Sangora: Part Three

This volume covers the fall of the Boarescu family, who lost their hold on Vale Sangora when Ovidiu Dragosti overcame their forces at the Battle of Maragir in AD 1263 — after which he installed his cousin Vincentiu as the residing bishop. Ovidiu's own rule was short: he died in AD 1271, crushed by an avalanche while travelling through the mountains.

His younger brother Stelian Dragosti proved a wise ruler, strict but fair, and the valley enjoyed decades of stability and prosperity. When Stelian died in a hunting accident in AD 1324, his successor Skender Dragosti dashed all hopes of continuity: a ruthless sovereign, he provoked a peasant uprising in AD 1333 that was quelled at Shrike's Crag with every rebel executed.

The volume — written in a tone loyal to the new regime — presents the divine punishment for that massacre as the arrival of Brencis, who righteously executed Skender in AD 1347 and brought prosperity back to Vale Sangora, and closes with a wish that his reign last forever.
