Cosmetics Overview

Cosmetics are the purely visual extras that let you personalize your hero beyond their skin. Minecraft Dungeons II has 10 of them: a wardrobe of capes and a small menagerie of pets. None of them appears in any loot table — they are unlocks tied to editions, bonuses, and events, not drops you can farm — and none of them affects your stats or gameplay in any way.
Capes
Capes drape across your hero's back and are visible during gameplay, in town, and in Minecraft Dungeons II Multiplayer Guide sessions:
- Soul Cape — a cape for heroes brave enough to face off against the Illager High Council. It comes with the Deluxe Edition (see Minecraft Dungeons II Editions).
- Twisted Cape — wrapping yourself in the form of this foe makes for quite the intimidating statement. It was a pre-order bonus, and it is also usable in Minecraft Bedrock and Java editions.
- Aurora Cape — a limited reward from a Twitch and TikTok event, available until October 15.
- Hero Cape — a trusty cape that the years have only made shine brighter, a classic look for veteran heroes.
- Mojang Cape — crafted with passion and perseverance, the studio's signature cape.
- Corrupted Creeper Cape — fearsome and fashionable, for heroes who want their cape to carry a little menace.
- Slice Slayer Cape — its pattern recalls tastier times shared with friends, a small comfort while battling endless foes.
- Special Cape — a garment given to only the most special of heroes, and now it is yours.
Pets
Pets are companions that follow your hero around on adventures. Like capes, they are visual only — they trail behind you for charm, not for combat:
- Blub Pet — a lost little blub, far from home, that will eagerly follow you wherever you go. It comes with the Deluxe Edition.
- Twisted Chicken Pet — do not take a chicken into combat, unless that chicken is a clueless, soul-infused anomaly. Luckily, this one is. It was a pre-order bonus.
- Cheesy Cube Pet — a savory cube sidekick for long days of adventuring, the kind of companion that has heroes asking whether it is dungeon time or dinner time.
How cosmetics work
Cosmetics never drop from mobs, chests, or merchants, and they never roll with random effects the way gear does. Each one is unlocked through a specific path — an edition of the game, a pre-order bonus, or a limited event — and once unlocked, it is yours to use freely. They layer on top of your Hero Skins choice: a skin changes your hero's body and outfit, while a cape and a pet add flair around it, so the three systems combine into a fully personalized look.
If you are deciding which version of the game to buy, check Minecraft Dungeons II Editions to see exactly which cosmetics each edition includes, and browse Capes & Pets for the dedicated capes and pets reference. And if any limited-time cosmetic catches your eye, grab it while its event is running — event rewards like the Aurora Cape are only available until their stated end date.
