Capes & Pets

Capes and pets are the cosmetic rewards of Minecraft Dungeons II. They come from owning the first game, pre-ordering, buying the Deluxe Edition, or joining promotional events — and some of them cross over into regular Minecraft Java and Bedrock. Here is every confirmed cape and pet and exactly how to get each one.

Hero Cape

The Hero Cape rewards returning players: play the first Minecraft Dungeons, then sign into Dungeons II before December 31, 2026 with the same Microsoft account. After claiming it in Dungeons II, sign into Minecraft Java or Bedrock with that same account to receive it there too. It is one of the few cosmetics that lives in both games.

Twisted Cape and Twisted Chicken

Both come from any pre-order of the game. The Twisted Cape is claimed in-game after launch and, like the Hero Cape, also unlocks in Java and Bedrock for pre-order buyers. The Twisted Chicken pet is Dungeons II only — it does not transfer to Java or Bedrock. Pre-orders also granted two extra hero skins, also Dungeons II only. Note that pre-orders closed on September 28, 2026, so these are no longer obtainable through new purchases; Mojang has not said whether the Twisted items will ever return after launch.

Soul Cape and Blub

Both are Deluxe Edition bonuses. The Soul Cape comes with the $49.99 Deluxe Edition (versus $29.99 for Standard), though its status in Java and Bedrock is unstated — unlike the Hero and Twisted capes, there is no confirmed crossover. The Blub pet is Deluxe as well and Dungeons II only. Deluxe also includes four hero skins and DLC 1 & 2 as they release. Blub is cosmetic-only so far, with no gameplay effect.

Corrupted Creeper Cape

This cape comes from promotional events, starting at gamescom 2026. Details on later promotional windows have been sparse — if you see a Mojang event offering it, that is the way in.

Aurora Cape (Twitch & TikTok promotion)

Mojang announced the Aurora Cape on September 28 as a launch promotion, but note what it actually is: a cape for Minecraft Java and Bedrock, not one worn in Dungeons II itself. It has a blue-to-yellow gradient based on a spare Dungeons II cape concept tied to the Sift. To earn it, watch a Minecraft Dungeons II livestream while signed in — 15 minutes on Twitch or 3 minutes on TikTok — between September 29, 07:00 UTC and October 15, 06:59 UTC. Then redeem the 25-character code at minecraft.net/redeem by October 31, 2026. Whether the Aurora Cape will ever appear in Dungeons II, and which regions are excluded, are unknown.

Cross-game rules

For capes that do cross over, the process is the same: claim the cape in Dungeons II first, then sign into Java or Bedrock with the same Microsoft account. Physical buyers need to redeem their box code on their console platform before any of this works. Do not assume every cape transfers — only the ones explicitly listed above do.
