Minecraft Dungeons II Price

Minecraft Dungeons II is a mid-priced release, not a $70-tier one. The official Xbox store lists the Standard edition at $29.99 and the Deluxe edition at $49.99, and the full game is included with Game Pass from launch day. That makes the buying decision fairly simple: Standard gets you everything playable, Deluxe adds cosmetics and the two dated Minecraft Dungeons II DLC packs.
The two prices, item by item
Standard — $29.99. This is the complete base game: the full campaign, The Sift dimension, co-op Minecraft Dungeons II Multiplayer Guide and every launch system. Nothing in the campaign is cut, gated or reduced compared to Deluxe.
Deluxe — $49.99. The same game, plus a bundle of extras: the soul cape, the Blub pet, four hero skins, and DLC 1 (planned for winter 2026) plus DLC 2 (planned for spring 2027) included at no extra cost. See the Minecraft Dungeons II Editions page for a full side-by-side of what each version contains.
The important point: nothing in Deluxe changes the base campaign or locks any gameplay power. The extras are cosmetics and future content — they do not make a Deluxe player's hero stronger, and no quest, region or system is walled off from Standard owners.
Game Pass: day one, full game
The game is marked as included with Game Pass and was playable from launch day, September 29, 2026. Game Pass covers the Xbox and PC versions of the game. PlayStation and Nintendo versions are straight purchases with no subscription attached.
Note what the Game Pass listing includes: the game itself, not the Deluxe bundle. The soul cape, the Blub pet, the extra skins and the DLC packs are separate purchases unless a regional store page says otherwise. That means Game Pass is the cheapest way to play the campaign, but it does not substitute for Deluxe if you want the cosmetics or the DLC. Buying the game outright only makes sense if you want permanent access, play on PlayStation or Nintendo, or want the pre-order-window bonuses.
Regional prices
US pricing comes from the official Xbox store: $29.99 / $49.99. The Hong Kong console eShop listing priced the game at HKD 349, though the page text bundles main-game and Deluxe wording, so the exact SKU there is not fully disambiguated. For other regions, the buying storefront is the source of truth — check the store page in your region before purchasing, since regional figures vary.
Is it ever free?
No. There is no free-to-play version, no free trial and no starter edition of any kind. Search results or pages offering a free download of Minecraft Dungeons II are unofficial and unsafe — the game is a paid release on every platform.
FAQ
Is Deluxe worth the extra $20? Only if you want the DLC or the cosmetics. If you plan to buy both DLC packs anyway, Deluxe is very likely the cheaper route. If you only care about the base campaign, Standard gives you all of it.
Has the price ever dropped? No discount schedule has been announced. Store sales typically follow the first DLC window — winter 2026 — but that is a pattern, not a promise.
