Soul Storms

What Soul Storms are
After the campaign credits roll, the story is not quite over: the Grand Illusioner is still alive, and he raises storm generators across the map. These post-campaign events are Soul Storms — the game's rotating endgame loop and its best source of high-modifier gear. Each storm arrives roughly once an hour on a real-time clock, and clearing one means waiting about an hour for the next. Storms cannot be repeated on demand, so each hourly window is a single shot at the rewards.
Rotation and regions
Seven host regions cycle in a fixed order for every player: Honeycomb Fields → Howling Woods → Singer's Meadow → Rainy Plains → Humbler Huskland → Lullaby Hills → Frozen Highlands, then the sequence repeats. Four of these are Overworld regions and three are in the Sift. Each region has exactly one fixed storm site, so once you have cleared a storm you always know where the next one for that region will appear.
Inside a storm
When a storm is active, the whole area turns grey and the music changes — you will know it when you see it. Storm generators show up as icons on the map, with 5–9 possible spawn spots per region. Some generators are guarded by mini storm generators; destroy those first or they will protect the main target. Enemies spawn in waves: expect creepers, skeletons, and illagers early, with Sift creatures appearing in the later regions' storms. There are three generators per storm, and destroying the third spawns a boss — for example, the Copper Monstrosity.
Storm sites and waves
The storm site itself is fixed per region, but the generator layout changes each time: with 5–9 possible spawn spots per region, you will approach from different angles on every run. Mini storm generators guarding a main generator should always be the first targets — while they stand, the main target is shielded and the enemy waves keep coming. Save your hardest-hitting buffs for the final generator, since the boss spawn is the most dangerous moment of the storm.
Rewards
Soul Storm loot is the reason endgame builds exist. Each destroyed generator opens a special chest containing one Soul Storm item, and the final storm chest — a blue chest with a skull — can hold uniques. Storm gear never rolls common: rares carry two effects while specials and uniques carry three, compared to two on normal gear. That extra modifier is what the Endgame Builds pages mean by "3-modifier gear." Uniques remain rare — community tracking reports roughly 2 triple-effect uniques in 20 storms — and harder storms can drop up to four items plus extra echo shards.
Strategy
Because storms only appear hourly, treat each one as a gear-farming appointment. Clear the mini generators before focusing the main ones, save your hardest-hitting buffs for the third generator's boss spawn, and wear loot-boosting gear (the blue-pouch and blue-ring effects) before opening the final chest to push your drop quality up to about 60% extra-drop chance. There is no way to force a storm to respawn, so if you miss one, plan around the next hour's region in the fixed rotation.
