Overview
After taking Toledo, Tariq pushes outward against the remaining Visigoth towns. Secure the capital quickly before reinforcements return, then choose which three neighboring strongholds to bring under control.
Player approach
Consolidation and Subjugation begins with a large army facing Toledo’s garrison. Take the city efficiently, then defeat three of the four neighboring Visigoth towns to satisfy the victory condition.
Step-by-step plan
Concentrate the starting force against the garrison and its five towers rather than splitting into several assaults. Once Toledo changes sides, use its position to stabilize the economy and screen the approaches. Scout the four rival towns, choose three with the most accessible routes, and preserve a reserve for counterattacks while the main army clears their defenses.
Risks and adjustments
The player cannot advance to Imperial Age or build Docks, so plan around Castle Age tools. In the HD ruleset both heroes must survive; keep them behind the formation if playing that version.
