Overview

Scenario details

Chart the Norman family’s ascent across southern Italy and Sicily. Mission order and scenario notes: 1. Guiscard Arrives — Reunite Robert’s scattered Norman band, then choose between striking out independently or serving a regional power. Expand your control through baronies and villages before defeating the Lombard or Byzantine rival 2. Roger in Sicily — Roger’s campaign for Sicily begins with a political choice over his Arab ally. Subdue the island’s rival rulers to take their towns, while Relics can help stir resistance against their control 3. Bohemond and the Emperor — Bohemond leads a small expedition into Byzantine territory with a tight population limit. The Byzantine armies recover while their military buildings remain, so dismantle their production network and defenses before taking on the three generals 4. Bohemond in the East — After the capture of Antioch, defend its remaining fortifications against Kerbogha’s siege. Once Alexios arrives, either survive until Kerbogha withdraws or take the fight to his army; Relics provide gold because the mission has no Villagers 5. Wonder of the World — Roger II must unite and defend his Sicilian kingdom against a web of rival powers. Win by completing a defended Wonder or by defeating or allying with every faction; diplomacy, exploration, and captured enemy technologies open different ways to manage the large map Use the named objectives, starting setup, and mission order in this entry to distinguish it from the standard skirmish rules.
