Population limit
The selected cap limits how many population spaces a player can use for villagers, military units, and certain buildings.

Overview
The selected cap limits how many population spaces a player can use for villagers, military units, and certain buildings.
How this system affects decisions
Economic systems are shaped by worker travel, access to safe resource sites, and the time spent gathering versus building or moving. Compare a change by how many workers it affects and how long it remains useful, then balance it against the food, wood, gold, and population required to keep the army active.
How to use this reference
The selected cap limits how many population spaces a player can use for villagers, military units, and certain buildings. The population cap is shared by the player’s Villagers, military units, and any population-consuming buildings. Build enough Houses before the settlement reaches that limit; otherwise new units and workers cannot be queued until space is available.
