A New Power Arises Castle Age timing
A New Power Arises rewards an early Castle Age, but raids and widely scattered gold and stone make greedy booming unsafe. Use the Market to bridge the opening, then remove the easiest infantry opponent first.

Overview
A New Power Arises rewards an early Castle Age, but raids and widely scattered gold and stone make greedy booming unsafe. Use the Market to bridge the opening, then remove the easiest infantry opponent first.
Plan and execution
Build Villagers and a compact defense while gathering food and wood; buy the initial gold needed for the Age advance rather than sending exposed miners to distant deposits. Target Tambos with Archers or Slingers, then add Siege Rams and Slingers after reaching Castle Age. Recover its Relic Cart and escort it to the marked area. Scout Quechua’s offer and decide whether to pay for its alliance or remove its Watch Towers.
Risks and adaptation
The enemy raids begin before the economy is secure. Do not overboom without a defensive force, and escort the Relic Cart because it can be captured by enemies while moving on its own.
