Constantine XI siege-survival plan

Constantine XI is a long defense of Constantinople against repeated land and sea attacks. The assault sources keep returning, so success comes from lasting through each wave rather than trying to end the siege by destroying enemy camps.

Overview

Constantine XI is a long defense of Constantinople against repeated land and sea attacks. The assault sources keep returning, so success comes from lasting through each wave rather than trying to end the siege by destroying enemy camps.

Plan and execution

Use the opening preparation window to repair the Walls, place ranged defenses over the approaches, and secure the economy behind the safest gates. Keep a mobile reserve near likely breaches and assign Trebuchets to Fortified Towers during lulls, then pull them back before the next assault. Prioritize Siege Rams and Bombard Cannons when they threaten a wall section; use ships and coastal defenses to handle naval pressure without draining the land garrison. Treat each lull as time to repair, replenish, and reposition.

Risks and adaptation

A distant raid can lose the force without preventing the next wave. Avoid chasing enemy camps or sending the full army outside the Walls. The attacks arrive in recurring cycles, so save enough resources and units for the later pushes instead of spending everything on an early counterattack.
