Overview

Four Lakes mixes broad land routes with several small fishing areas, so naval skirmishes matter without replacing the land battle.

Plan and execution

Scout the nearby lakes and decide whether Fishing Ships can work safely before investing heavily in a Dock. Use a few warships to protect a lake or disrupt fishing, while keeping land production ready to contest routes between bases.

Risks and adaptation

A fleet committed to one small lake can be bypassed by an army crossing the open land. Keep the naval investment proportional, defend Fishing Ships, and do not neglect the land approach.

Decision example

The lakes are separate pockets, so controlling one does not guarantee all fishing income. Scout the nearest shoreline and a second reachable lake before committing to several Docks. A small fleet can protect Fishing Ships or raid the opponent's fish, while a land army watches the open routes between bases. If the water fight becomes expensive, keep one safe fish area and use the saved wood for land production; a fleet trapped in one lake cannot defend every approach.
