Overview

Gods of Death and Terror combines a long village-defense timer with decisions that affect later campaign missions. Choose the tribal support for the unit line you expect to need, and control attacks on villages without overcommitting to every rescue.

Plan and execution

Select the Picunche when upgraded Spearmen will help your later cavalry defense, or the Huilliche when additional Skirmishers better support a ranged plan. Repair both Mapuche Monasteries where possible to preserve the Villager health bonus. During the defense, use the village towers as objectives: reclaim a village after the enemy army has moved away instead of meeting its full force head-on. Keep the main base protected and use the forty-minute timer to conserve troops and resources.

Risks and adaptation

On higher difficulty, Pedro de Valdivia’s main army can overwhelm an early village defense. Do not sacrifice the core army trying to hold every settlement at once; let the force pass, retake the objective later, and preserve the campaign bonus tasks.
