Grand Trunk Road strengthens several Hindustani gold sources, making it a priority when the army depends on gold and the economy can use mining, trade, or Relics. Develop the income paths before the map runs dry.
Plan and execution
Keep Gold Miners active and protect their camps, then establish safe Trade Cart or Trade Cog routes as map control allows. Secure Relics with Monks and use the improved income to maintain Camel Riders, Hand Cannoneers, or Bombard Cannons. Research the technology before the late-game gold crunch so its benefits accumulate while you still have time to establish trade.
Risks and adaptation
The bonus does not protect exposed trade routes or mining camps. If no safe route exists and gold remains abundant, spend on immediate production and defenses first; scout for trade opportunities before relying on the technology.
