Plan and execution
Protect Bombard Cannons while researching Houfnice, then focus the upgraded guns on enemy siege, clustered units, or the structure blocking the push. Keep the artillery behind a frontline and maintain vision so it can fire before the opponent closes.
Risks and adaptation
The upgrade competes for substantial resources and is not worthwhile for a single isolated Cannon. Cavalry and melee units can still threaten the artillery; preserve an escort and retreat when the screen breaks.
