Konnik mixed-counter pressure

Konnik: Konniks force an opponent to account for both mounted and dismounted forms during the same fight. That durability can complicate a single-counter defense and makes the unit useful in sustained engagements when the supporting economy can replace losses.

Overview

Konnik: Konniks force an opponent to account for both mounted and dismounted forms during the same fight. That durability can complicate a single-counter defense and makes the unit useful in sustained engagements when the supporting economy can replace losses.

Plan and execution

Keep Konniks together and take fights where the dismounted troops can remain near the mounted line. Use their pressure to draw anti-cavalry defenders into a mixed battle, then let ranged support punish whichever counter the opponent adds. Scout the enemy composition before choosing a direct assault.

Risks and adaptation

The mounted form remains vulnerable to Spearmen and Camels, while both forms can be threatened by ranged focus fire. Avoid sending a small group into a prepared archer position and watch for the opponent to mix counters rather than relying on just one unit type.
