Overview
Mounted Trebuchet: Mounted Trebuchets are more suited to fighting units and siege than to outranging Castles. Their mobility and blast effects can help disrupt an enemy siege line when supported by an army.
Plan and execution
Keep the Trebuchets behind a screen, then move them toward enemy siege once the opposing frontline is occupied. Use their area pressure against clustered units and retreat before anti-siege units can close. Assign ordinary building siege to the targets they cannot efficiently outrange.
Risks and adaptation
They count as heavy siege and attract anti-siege counters, while their building range is limited. Do not use them as a substitute for a safe Castle-breaking unit or leave them exposed during a retreat.
