Overview

Recurve Bow extends the reach of Magyar Cavalry Archers, helping them trade against ranged units and sustain hit-and-run pressure. Establish the ranged attack upgrades first, then use the added range with disciplined movement.

Plan and execution

Research Bracer before Recurve Bow, then assemble a Cavalry Archer mass large enough to focus targets. Kite slower infantry and siege, use terrain and mobility to maintain spacing, and keep a screen between the archers and enemy cavalry. The added reach helps them contest ranged groups, but continue scouting for the opponent’s counters and protect the retreat route.

Risks and adaptation

Range does not prevent a fast dive or replace accuracy, attack, and armor upgrades. Avoid splitting the group or firing into a protected formation where the enemy can close distance; reposition before committing to a prolonged fight.
