Relic control and recovery
Relics create long-term objectives; route control can matter more than reaching every relic immediately.

Overview
Relics create long-term objectives; route control can matter more than reaching every relic immediately.
Plan and execution
Scout relic locations, identify the safest return route, and clear the approach with a mobile escort before sending Monks. Bring each relic to a protected Monastery, then revisit the area after a major fight when both sides may have left relics exposed.
Risks and adaptation
Carriers can be intercepted or trapped by cavalry, so avoid sending them alone through contested ground. Keep vision on the route home, preserve a screening force, and protect your Monastery if the opponent contests the same objective.
Decision example
Reveal the Relic locations before Monks are trained, then secure a route with military units. Escort each carrier home and check for an enemy army before crossing open ground; a Monk lost with a Relic can reverse the map-control gain. After a fight, look for dropped Relics and recover them only when the area is safe. Do not pull the whole army away from an urgent defense to chase a distant Relic that cannot be held.
