Overview

Shimazu punishes unnecessary enemy kills by reducing stored gold, while Red Seal Ships generate gold and create trade options. Build the economy first and use the coastline to find income before committing to battles.

Plan and execution

Start with food and wood production, then build a small fleet of Galleys and Fire Galleys to scout the nearby coast. Search for the five Junks and let them generate gold before risking the army in combat. Locate the Nanban island and complete its requested Feitoria only when the population cost and Shogun’s ire are manageable; trade with the Nanban Dock rather than enemy Docks to turn the ships into a safer income route. Use the additional resources to prepare the next objective and avoid needless skirmishes that drain gold.

Risks and adaptation

Every enemy unit killed reduces gold, so do not clear patrols without a reason. A Feitoria uses a large share of the mission’s population and increases the Shogun’s ire; plan its timing and keep ships away from hostile fleets.
