Overview
The Battle of Red Cliffs (Liu Bei) starts with a 15-minute defense while Zhuge Liang completes the wind ritual, then changes into a larger naval and land battle. Use the early quiet to prepare the economy and preserve the protected hero.
Plan and execution
Keep Liu Bei and a small guard near Zhuge Liang so he is not an isolated target, while the rest of the army shores up the threatened approaches. Add Town Centers and Villagers early if the prior scenario grants the resources, and complete available side objectives such as repairing Zhou Yu’s Demolition Ships. Since the opening does not allow new Docks or warships, rely on the existing defenses and protect against Galleons and landing parties. Once the ritual ends, shift into the offensive phase with a prepared economy and the naval support already repaired.
Risks and adaptation
The best approach depends on choices and rescued resources from earlier scenarios, so adjust the opening to the actual starting army. Do not send Liu Bei away from Zhuge Liang during the timer, and do not spend the early phase on a risky naval counter you cannot yet produce.
