Overview

The Enemy of my Enemy gives El Cid a small mixed force and four Villagers. Use the nearby Sheep to support food production, protect the fragile Archers, and avoid wasting resources on defense the starting army can already handle.

Plan and execution

Send a Knight east to find the Sheep and guide them back to your Town Centers without passing Motamid’s Market, which can claim them. Keep the Archers behind Knights and Long Swordsmen because enemy cavalry target them first. Delay Farms while wood is scarce, secure the nearby gold deposits, and attack the enemy groups in stages once the food economy can produce Villagers and replacements.

Risks and adaptation

The Sheep are an important early food source and can be lost if taken too close to Motamid’s Market. Do not expose Archers to lone cavalry patrols or build an unnecessary Market before the trade route can return useful gold.
