The Giant Falls Castle-first counterattack
The Giant Falls lets you trigger allied attacks by reaching their forces while the Romans stay defensive. Use those triggers to open the front, then focus on Roman Castles that unlock buildings and tribute.

Overview
The Giant Falls lets you trigger allied attacks by reaching their forces while the Romans stay defensive. Use those triggers to open the front, then focus on Roman Castles that unlock buildings and tribute.
Plan and execution
Set up a base west of the start and add a Castle as a fallback against the southern Roman force. Clear the Imperial Legion line to the east, then visit the Visigoths to trigger their assault on Rome. Return to rebuild and attack the City Garrison camp south of Rome; after clearing it, reach Ataulf to trigger the second allied attack. Use the resulting pressure to push with siege and a mixed army, prioritizing Roman Castles because their destruction transfers nearby buildings and produces tribute.
Risks and adaptation
Do not trigger both allies before the army is ready to capitalize on their attacks. Roman units deal strong bonus damage to infantry, so add ranged units or cavalry rather than relying only on infantry; avoid spending time razing every structure.
