Overview

The Scholar and the Sandal Maker has a first phase to find Zhuge Liang and a second phase to defend the northern border. Reach the mountain objective before Cao Cao’s vanguard overwhelms the allied position.

Plan and execution

Add the nearby group of Pikemen and White Feather Guards or the available ranged units to the starting force. Clear the Conspirator ambushes in small engagements, then choose between the defended outpost and the longer route through patrols and barricades. Use the composition’s counters instead of fighting both paths, and preserve the heroes for the encounter near the mountains. After the phase changes, establish production and organize the border defense before sending the army far from its base.

Risks and adaptation

The first phase has a soft timer even if no countdown is shown. Losing the main force can trigger reinforcements, but relying on that fallback makes the later defense harder.
