Overview

Trade generates gold over distance when a team can maintain long, protected routes.

Plan and execution

Place Markets for a clear route between allied endpoints, avoid congestion, coordinate defense, and add carts as the lane becomes safe.

Risks and adaptation

Exposed routes invite raids and obstruct movement. Keep alternate gold access and do not invest heavily before endpoints are safe.

Decision example

Trade needs two allied Markets and a route long enough to return useful gold. Scout the lane before adding many Trade Carts, then keep cavalry or another mobile screen ready at its exposed sections. Route carts behind defended ground rather than through a contested center, and avoid crowding the path with new buildings. If the enemy raids an endpoint, garrison or redirect carts while the army clears it; repeated losses erase the value of new production. Keep mining or Relics available while the route is being established.
