Bank Wagon (shipment)

Bank Wagon is a Japanese Consulate technology available through the Dutch alliance. It sends a wagon that can establish a Bank, giving Japan access to a building normally associated with the Dutch. The research is an economic option rather than an army shipment: its value comes from the Bank after construction and from having enough time to benefit from the investment.

Japanese economic option

The recorded option is available in the Commerce Age, costs 450 Export and takes 30 seconds to research. It delivers one Bank Wagon, which must be unpacked at a suitable site. The Bank is a stationary building, so position it where it can be protected and where its economic contribution fits the Japanese plan. Choosing the Dutch Consulate route is also an alliance decision; compare the Bank with the units or other technologies offered by alternatives before committing Export.

Dutch Consulate alliance

Consider Bank Wagon when a longer game gives the Bank time to repay the Export spent and the Japanese player can defend another valuable structure. It is less attractive when immediate military pressure requires a different Consulate option or when the match is likely to end before the economy can benefit. The wagon grants construction access through the delivered unit; it does not make the Bank mobile or remove the need to protect the completed building.

Bank Wagon field profile

The delivered Bank Wagon has 500 hit points, speed 4.0, line of sight 18 and 20% siege resistance. It builds a Bank at three times the standard rate. Use its movement to place the structure where Japanese Villagers can gather nearby resources safely and where the army can answer a raid. Siege resistance reduces one damage category but does not make the wagon or completed Bank safe from ordinary attacks. The Dutch alliance choice and 450 Export research cost are paid before this constructor reaches the site, so scout the route and choose a defendable location first.
