Combat values

Bring support when the Explorer’s health is low or the Treasure group contains additional guards. The Beast’s speed lets it close quickly, while its attack can punish an isolated Hero. Identify whether the guardian is the ordinary Beast or Beast of Gévaudan before choosing abilities or estimating how much force is needed.

Distinguish the ordinary Beast from its named variant

Both names appear in the same expansion’s Treasure encounters, but the units are not interchangeable. The ordinary Beast has 220 hit points and an 18-damage attack; Beast of Gévaudan has 480 hit points, acts as a Hero and deals 35 damage. The named variant’s Hero tag changes which special attacks can target it. Read the unit name and health bar before committing the Explorer or a cooldown ability.
