Scenario setting & objectives

The two primary requirements are to reach the Industrial Age and train 60 Settlers. Both compete for Food and Coin: spending every resource on workers can delay the Age advance, while aging too early can slow the population target.

Mission approach

Keep Town Center production steady, but reserve the required Age-up resources before the deadline. Balance worker assignments against the next cost and use safe resource sources so raids or idle gatherers do not stall either objective.

Sixty Settlers and Industrial timing

Booming is the fourth The Art of War tutorial and uses Spain to teach the tradeoff between continuous Villager growth and reaching the Industrial Age. The objectives are to train 60 Settlers and advance to Industrial. Both goals compete for Food and Coin: an uninterrupted Town Center queue grows the economy, but spending all resources on Settlers delays the 2,000-Food and 1,200-Coin age-up. Set aside the transition cost before adding optional military production, then keep enough gatherers on Food and Coin to complete the advance while the Settler count rises. Check the objective tracker to avoid overproducing after the target is met. The challenge tests economy planning rather than defeating an opponent; the efficient solution is to keep workers gathering, avoid idle Town Center time and reserve the age-up resources before the deadline.

Town Center queue and rally point

Booming begins with Spain already in the Fortress Age and asks the player to use remaining Food to train Settlers. Set the Town Center rally point on a nearby herd so new workers immediately join Food gathering, then redirect enough labor to Coin for the Industrial transition. The lesson emphasizes the relationship between shipments, civilization bonuses and worker growth; Spain’s Home City access can support the economy, but the two requirements remain 60 Settlers and Industrial Age. Avoid letting the Town Center sit idle, and stop training once the 60-worker target is secure if doing so would delay the Age advance.

Managing the two objectives

Treat the population target and the Age transition as parallel progress bars. The Town Center is the only reliable source of new Settlers in this lesson, so its queue should remain active whenever Food allows. At the same time, reserve the Industrial Age requirement rather than spending all Food on workers; when Coin gathering is short, move a portion of the economy before the queue reaches the final Settler. Spain starts in the Fortress Age and the scenario is about economic timing, not eliminating an enemy. Keep the army and optional spending modest until both conditions are secure. Once the objective tracker confirms 60 Settlers and Industrial Age, the lesson is complete.
