Coal Prospector Wagon
Coal Prospector Wagon is an economic construction wagon available to the United States and German Confederation in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. It can be sent from the Home City and transforms into a Coal Mine, creating a resource site rather than gathering Coal itself. The wagon has 250 hit points, 18 line of sight, 4.0 speed and 20% siege resistance. Its value depends on placing and protecting the mine where workers can use it.

Role, availability & values
Ship the wagon from the Home City, escort it to a legal site, then let it transform into the Coal Mine. The source describes Coal as gathering faster than other mines; the wagon itself does not generate or carry the resource. Do not count it as an ordinary Coin mine or assume it is part of every civilization’s economy. Its access is limited to the listed civilizations and the appropriate Definitive Edition content.
Matchup & timing
Scout the intended location before sending the wagon. A mine near workers and defensible ground can extend the economy, while a distant site may expose both the wagon and later gatherers to raids. Use it when Coal is relevant to the active civilization and plan, and protect the finished mine if the opponent can contest the area.
Create the mine where it can be used
The 250-hit-point wagon moves at 4.0 speed and transforms into a Coal Mine rather than gathering itself. Choose a legal location that workers can reach and the army can defend, then escort the wagon across exposed ground. The Coal source follows the rules of the civilization and mode that provided it; do not count it as a guaranteed resource on every map.
Home City delivery and resource distinction
The Prospector Wagon is shipped from the Home City by the United States or German Confederation. Its transformation creates a Coal Mine; workers gather from that building afterward. The mine is described as faster to gather than other mines, but the wagon is not itself a resource trickle. Plan the site around worker access and defense so the shipment becomes a usable economic source.
