Ducal Berg Lancers
Ducal Berg Lancers is a Fortress Age technology available through a Trading Post, or a Tambo for the Inca. It sends five Chevaulegers and increases their bonus damage against Infantry by 0.25×, combining an immediate cavalry reinforcement with a matchup improvement.

Effect & research conditions
The technology costs 500 Food and 500 Coin and takes 30 seconds. The five Chevaulegers arrive as a research reward rather than being trained one at a time. The bonus is specific to Chevaulegers attacking Infantry; it does not improve damage against Cavalry, buildings or every target. Keep enough population room for the arrival and check the unit’s role in the active roster.

When to research
Research when the army can use five mounted units and expects to fight Infantry. Cavalry can pressure flanks or chase exposed troops, but the reward needs support against anti-cavalry units. The large Food and Coin cost competes with Age advancement and regular production, so begin research when the site is secure and the units have time to reach the front.
A reinforcement and a combat modifier
Ducal Berg Lancers has two parts: five Chevaulegers and a lasting increase to their Infantry bonus. The group can reinforce a formation once research finishes; the modifier improves that specific matchup. Do not count the extra bonus as a substitute for screening cavalry from its counters. Use the units to attack exposed Infantry or threaten a flank, then withdraw if the opponent forms an anti-cavalry line. The Inca route through a Tambo is distinct from the Trading Post access.
